"One day in late fall 2010, I randomly took out my keyboard in a call with a friend of mine named Brittany and played a simple piano riff with the lyrics 'HEY THERE BRITTANY HOW ARE YOU DOING' over and over again. (Later I also made a version of the song with the lyrics changed to 'HEY THERE THIS IS A SONGGGGG'; if any of you are familiar with this thing, it'd most likely be that version.) I decided to make a song with that chord pattern. I also wisely decided to skip the lyrics this time."
